Whistle Stop Books READERS Chat
Tuesdays and Sundays: 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Wanted: People who value the dance of words across the page for a weekly chat (well, twice or more per week) about books. Big books, small books, children’s books. Histories and philosophy and art. Mysteries and romances steeped in history. FBI agents sliding around corners and creeping down alleys, gun drawn, looking for the last clue to a cold case.
Wanted: People who love books. All sorts of books. Not just stories but recipes for oatmeal bread and twenty different ways to can tomatoes.
Wanted: People who love to compare notes or collect recommendations or swoon at the mention of a particular writer.
Wanted, in short, readers.
The Whistle Stop Books Readers’ Chat happens every Tuesday and Sunday (for afternoons, from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Swing by for a cup of coffee (or tea) and a chance to talk to others whose tastes in reading may be opposite of your own or very similar. Discover new authors, compare notes about much loved books, or figure out what makes a book tick or fall flat.
There is no required reading, no books you have to buy…just a friendly chat about books and reading and what you love.
Munchies provided on whim; Coffee and tea are constants.
While you are here, browse the shelves and find all new worlds you did not know existed.
